Food Service Wipes

Food Service Wipes are ideal for restaurants, ghost kitchens, bakeries. Food service wipes effectively clean stainless steel countertops and other materials. You can find reusable, paper, or disinfecting food service wipes that are food-safe and suit your application.

Sanitizing wipes are a convenient way to clean a food processing or food service area. Many disinfecting wipes kill 99.9% of harmful germs and bacteria after only 15 seconds. But ensure the disinfectant is food-safe, and if it doesn’t explicitly say it is food-safe, then it probably isn’t.

According to the Partnership for Food Safety Education, disinfectants can leave behind harmful residue on food contact surfaces and thus should not be used. A simple detergent with warm water is effective at cleaning food-contact surfaces.

Ensure your sanitizing wipes are food-safe and err on the side on caution when buying scented wipes. It’s better to have a neutral sanitizing wipe than one with a potent smell.

Sanitizing wipes may cost a few pennies more but the convenience and ease of training employees may justify the additional cost.

In the end, using reusable wipes or food service wipes with a separate sanitizer or disinfectant will always be effective.

What are food service wipes?

Food service wipes are special cleaning cloths used in food service environments. They are designed to clean and sanitize surfaces, often compatible with most commercial cleaning solutions.

Food service wipes are designed to be highly functional in restaurants and kitchens while being 100% safe to use around food. They may include food-safe sanitizing wipes designed to be non-toxic and safe to use on food contact surfaces.

Some wipes come dry in a canister so you may add the disinfectant or sanitizer or your choosing to the canister, and then pull out wet wipes as needed. If you’re unsure as to what fits your needs, then request a sample and try it out.

What makes food service wipes different from regular cleaning wipes?

Food service wipes are specially designed to meet the food service industry's stringent health and safety standards. They are often non-toxic, safe to use around food, and effective against foodborne pathogens.

How effective are food service wipes at eliminating bacteria and viruses?

Many food service wipes are not designed to kill bacteria and viruses but work with sanitizing solutions. Some wipes come pre-saturated with disinfectants but check the product listing beforehand.
