What are cleaning cards?

Cleaning cards are specially designed cards that help maintain the internal parts of a card reader machine. They're used in ATMs, credit card machines, hotel door locks, and other types of card readers.

How do cleaning cards work?

Cleaning cards are coated with a solution that removes dirt, dust, oils, and other contaminants when run through a card reader, ensuring the magnetic heads and rollers are clean for optimal function. Not all cleaning solutions are compatible with card machines, so specially designed cleaning cards are necessary.

How often should I use cleaning cards?

The frequency of use depends on the type of machine and the amount of usage it receives. Generally, card reader machines that are heavily used should be cleaned once a week, while less frequently used machines can be cleaned once a month. At the very least, the card reader should be cleaned when cards are no longer consistently processed.

Can I reuse a cleaning card?

Most cleaning cards are designed for single use to ensure maximum effectiveness. Reusing a cleaning card may lead to re-depositing the dirt it initially removed. If planning to reuse a cleaning card, check for any tears in the materials and use a compatible solvent.
