Description
The North B131R (formerly sold as Honeywell North) is an unsupported butyl rubber glove for handling ketones and esters, the solvents that break through nitrile gloves quickly. It is 13 mil (0.33 mm) thick, 11 in long, black, with a rough Grip-Saf finish and a powder-free interior. Sold by the pair.
Features
- Butyl rubber: resists permeation by ketones such as acetone, MEK and MIBK, and esters such as ethyl acetate, amyl acetate and tricresyl phosphate.
- Grip-Saf rough finish: textured surface for a secure grip on wet or slippery containers, drums and tools.
- 13 mil, unsupported: flexible enough for handling bottles and equipment, with no fabric liner to absorb chemicals.
- 11 in length with a rolled cuff.
- Standards: EN ISO 374-1:2016 Type A (tested against methanol, acetone, acetonitrile, ethyl acetate, 40% sodium hydroxide and 96% sulfuric acid); EN 388:2016 2000X.

Not for
Butyl is rated only fair to poor against gasoline, diesel and petroleum distillates, and poor against toluene. For fuels and oils, choose a nitrile fuel glove instead. Always check the manufacturer's chemical resistance data for your chemical and contact time.
