Choosing Cleanroom Swabs

Cleanroom swabs clean, apply and remove material in spaces too small for a wipe. Most of our range is Teknipure Tekniswab, laundered to reduce particles, non-volatile residue and ions, plus Puritan and Coventry swabs. Choose by tip material:

• Foam: open-cell polyurethane foam that absorbs solvents and captures particles; good for cleaning joints and applying or removing lubricants and adhesives.
• Knitted polyester: low-lint and tear-resistant, for solvent cleaning. See all polyester cleanroom swabs.
• Microfiber, microdenier and nonwoven: for fine particles, oils and residue; microdenier-over-foam tips combine both.
• Cotton: Puritan double-pointed cotton swabs for general, less critical tasks.
• ESD: Tekniswab foam, polyester and microfiber ESD swabs and Puritan anti-static foam swabs for static-sensitive work. See ESD cleanroom swabs.

Tips come in paddle, small, pointed, elongated, rectangular, spiral, flexible and micro shapes, on 3 to 6 in. shafts (mostly polypropylene), packed from 50 per pack. A 12 in. carbon fiber extension tool reaches deeper into equipment. For larger surfaces, see cleanroom wipes.

Which tip shape should I use?

Small and pointed tips reach tight spots and small components; paddle and rectangular tips cover flat surfaces and edges; flexible tips bend into channels and around corners.
