Medline Prophase Wound Cleanser

Prophase is a nontoxic, nonsensitizing wound cleanser that is non-irritating to the skin. It also moistens and aids in debridement. It contains cocamidopropyl betaine and PHMD in a low pH formulation, which can aid in wound healing.

• Contains cocamidopropyl betaine, which is a gentle and effective surfactant. It reduces the surface tension of the cleanser and creates a scrubbing effect to help penetrate and clean the wound bed. It forms a micelle to support physical removal of debris and contaminants.
• Contains PHMB, which is a preservative well-known for its broad spectrum antimicrobial/antiseptic properties with no known resistances.
  • Preservative testing of Prophase demonstrates its effectiveness against the following microorganisms: Pseudomonas aeruginosa, Candida albicans, Staphylococcus aureus, Aspergilus brasiliensis, Escherichia coli.
• Offered in an 8-oz. spray bottle that will provide an ideal level of spray pressure (AHRQ guidelines) as well as a 2 oz. single-use squeeze bottle.
• Indications: acute and chronic dermal lesions, stage I-IV pressure injuries, venous ulcers, leg ulcers, diabetic foot ulcers, post-surgical wounds, first- and second-degree burns and grafted and donor sites.
